Omkar Prakashan is an emerging publishing house dedicated to bringing meaningful literature, knowledge and creative works to readers while providing a supportive platform for authors, researchers and new literary voices.

Established in May 2025, Omkar Prakashan was founded with the belief that a publishing house can be more than a place where books are printed. It can become a living space for knowledge, literature, creativity and intellectual exchange—a place where ideas are nurtured, voices are encouraged and meaningful works find their way to readers.

With a special appreciation for Sanskrit and India's rich knowledge traditions, we seek to contribute to the preservation, promotion and contemporary dissemination of India's literary and intellectual heritage. At the same time, we welcome diverse literary and creative expressions in Sanskrit, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and English.

“विद्यादानं च कुर्वीत भोगमोक्ष जिगीषया”

This Sanskrit ideal is at the heart of the philosophy that inspires Omkar Prakashan.

Vidya-dānam - "the sharing of knowledge"  is one of the noblest ways of contributing to society. Knowledge gains greater meaning when it is not confined to an individual, but is shared, preserved and passed on to others and to future generations.

For us, books are one of the most enduring means of such vidyādāna. Every meaningful book has the potential to carry knowledge, experience, thought and wisdom from one mind to another, and from one generation to the next.

The expression “भोगमोक्ष जिगीषया” reminds us of the larger purpose of knowledge. Knowledge can enrich human life in the world while also awakening wisdom, discernment and a deeper understanding of life. Thus, the pursuit of knowledge is not merely for material advancement, but also for the higher development of the individual and society.

This is the spirit in which we approach our work:

to share knowledge, encourage meaningful thought, preserve our intellectual heritage and make literature a source of both enrichment and inner growth.
